Defining the brief and fixing the requirements of the project is arguably the most important stage. Fully understanding Client aspirations and forming a delivery plan is critical and success is achieved through clearly defined roles and responsibilities and actions agreed in terms of scope, programme and anticipated costs.
Agreeing what success ‘looks like’ at the outset is key to focusing on delivery. What are the aspirations for the project? How much should it cost? When is it needed? Focusing on the end-goal and instilling that into the project team is what drives projects and needs to be maintained at every stage.
Who is the project for? What benefits are sought? Who is best placed to deliver? We work as either head of the team, defining roles and responsibilities, setting deadline etc. or as part of a team. Clear vision of what is to be achieved and who best to deliver it is vital.
